Real Madrid vs Man City: Rodrygo's late brace forces extra time in thrilling Champions League semi-final
Real Madrid produced a stunning late comeback to force extra-time in their Champions League semi-final second leg against Manchester City on Wednesday night.
Pep Guardiola's side looked to be cruising through to the final after Riyad Mahrez had put them 1-0 up on the night and 5-3 ahead on aggregate in the first half.
But Real Madrid showed why they are the kings of this competition as they hit back with two goals in the final minutes of normal time to level the tie on aggregate.
Rodrygo was the hero for the hosts, scoring twice in the space of two minutes to send the Bernabeu into raptures.
The first came from a cross by Dani Carvajal, which Rodrygo met with a powerful header. The second was even more dramatic, as Rodrygo controlled a pass from Karim Benzema before firing home from a tight angle.
Extra time was a tense affair, but it was Real Madrid who eventually emerged victorious. Benzema scored a penalty in the 95th minute to give the hosts a 6-5 aggregate lead.
Real Madrid will now face Liverpool in the final in Paris on May 28.
