Elliott Returns to Dallas, Counting $6M in Dead Money
2024 Salary Cap Impacted by Previous Contract
New Deal Adds to Existing Dead Money
The Dallas Cowboys have reached an agreement with running back Ezekiel Elliott on a new contract, according to Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Notably, Elliott carries $6 million in dead money on the 2024 salary cap from his previous stint with Dallas. His new contract will further impact the team's financial situation.
Elliott returns to the Cowboys after one season with the New England Patriots, where he had 184 carries for 642 yards and three touchdowns. These numbers marked a career low for the running back, who had previously rushed for over 1,000 yards in four consecutive seasons with Dallas.
