Alexander Zverev Grabs Rome Title, Eyes Bigger Prizes

German Star Dominates with Serve, Secures 25th ATP Tour Victory

Zverev Continues Climb Up Rankings, Sets Sights on Roland Garros Triumph

ROME, Italy (May 12, 2024) – Alexander Zverev emerged triumphant from the Internazionali BNL d'Italia on Sunday, capturing his fourth title of the season with a convincing straight-sets victory over Nicolás Jarry.

The German, the highest seed remaining in the tournament, displayed an imperious serving performance throughout the week, winning 80% of his first-serve points. Against Jarry in the final, he fired nine aces and won 36 of 44 first-serve points.

Zverev's win extends his unbeaten streak to 12 matches and improves his overall record for the season to 25-9. The 21-time ATP Tour champion is now on course to make a significant move up the world rankings, where he currently sits at No. 4.

For Zverev, the Rome title is a major boost ahead of the upcoming French Open, where he will be among the favorites to challenge for the title. The German has reached the semifinals at Roland Garros twice before and will be determined to go one step further this year.
