In a stunning upset, the Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the defending NBA champion Denver Nuggets 123-118 in Game 1 of their Western Conference semifinal series. Anthony Edwards led the charge for the Timberwolves, pouring in a game-high 38 points on 13-of-21 shooting. Jamal Murray struggled for the Nuggets, finishing with just 14 points on 4-of-13 shooting.
The Timberwolves have now won five straight games in this postseason, all of them convincing victories. They will look to continue their momentum in Game 2 on Wednesday night in Denver.
